"From medical mystery to healed: a fitness coach's personal journey through autoimmune illness — and the philosophy behind her 3-tier coaching program."

I know what it's like to feel like a medical mystery.
In my mid-20s, I built a fitness career on a body that felt strong, capable, full of energy while training alongside some of the best fitness trainers. Then my body broke down from over-working.  By 29, I looked great but I was cycling through doctors and specialists who ran the tests, said everything looked normal, and dismissed me — again and again — while I was fatigued, in pain, and lost in brain fog.  Eventually I got a diagnosis: an autoimmune condition. Three years in, still "doing everything right" with no real progress, I took over. I pulled notes from classes I'd taken with a Naturopathic Doctor. I started meticulously implementing all of the advice my Naturopathic Doctors (my parents) gave me. I finished a full pre-med course load with a 3.8 GPA while managing daily symptoms. I shadowed PT's, OT's and other specialists.  I studied nutrition obsessively and tested it on myself until it worked. I set money aside as a non-issue and hired the best help I could find to fill in blind spots. I was willing to do what it takes because my goal wasn't to feel a little better — it was to heal, fully, so I could build the life I wanted, including one day raising kids with the strength and energy to keep up with them. It took a decade to completely heal my autoimmune condition. That deep work to get here is now what lets me hand you real answers, shortcuts, and referrals on your own healing journey — not guesses. Coaching experience, clinical experience as both student and patient, and lived experience: that combination is the lens everything here is built on.

Healing isn't just physical.
Chronic illness doesn't only affect tissue and inflammation markers. It reshapes your identity, how you talk to yourself when your body won't cooperate, and whether you believe change is even possible for someone like you.  Most health and fitness programs split mind and body into separate problems. Mine doesn't. I coach the whole person — the physiology of healing and the psychology of believing you're capable of it. My Psychology degree gives me the framework, but nothing replaces lived experience for helping someone get out of the trenches. It's finally feeling understood, backed by small, real proof that your body can change. Healing starts by deciding that you will do what it takes to heal, and implementing the practices because you and the life you want to live are worth it.

15 years of coaching. One condition I had to heal myself.
I've spent over 15 years as a fitness coach — training athletes, beginners, and people rebuilding after injury or illness. But nothing taught me more than becoming fluent in nutrition and inflammation science out of necessity. I learned how food, movement, stress, and recovery talk to each other. I also still wanted to look good but felt like I was going to pass out after a single plank. I had to learn to build strength without triggering the flares so many people with chronic conditions quietly fear.  I'm not coaching from a textbook. I'm coaching from both sides of the exam table — and from finding my way back to a body I trust. I can help guide you back into a body that not only feels good again but that you're also proud to look at.

Why this matters for you
If you're managing a chronic or autoimmune condition, you've probably heard "just exercise more" or "eat healthier" from people who've never navigated a flare mid-workout, or feared paying for a hard workout session for over a week. That advice isn't wrong — it's incomplete, because it wasn't built around what you're actually dealing with. I offer something different: clinical fluency your care team will take seriously, coaching expertise to build a program that's symptom-aware and still progresses your fitness, and firsthand understanding of what it's like when your own body feels like the obstacle. You won't have to explain what a flare feels like or justify a bad day. I already know — and I know there's a version of you that can feel like yourself again.

My commitment to you
You're not broken, and you're not starting from zero. You're starting from experience that, with the right guidance, becomes the foundation for real, lasting strength. My job is to meet you where you are and walk the path with you until you trust your body again. Whole Body Strength's philosophy sees you as a whole person that has parts that all work together. It's why I built a three-tier program instead of one-size-fits-all — because healing and strength aren't linear, and neither is the support you deserve.
